OSHA: What are some other common airborne pathogens aside from covid-19 that our office should keep in mind?

Chickenpox

Mumps

Measles

Anthrax

Diphtheria

Meningitis

Common cold/Whooping Cough

Asperigillosis

Tuberculosis (TB)

If there is potential for exposures to airborne pathogens, employees must wear appropriate PPE such as N95 respirators or greater and restrict susceptible employees from entering the room.

HIPAA:

Q: HIPAA covers 3 types of security controls. Two of them are administrative (processes and policies), and technical (firewalls, anti-virus, etc.). What is the 3rd?

A: Physical controls. These include things like protecting mobile devices that contain PHI, shredding paper with PHI on it instead of throwing it in the regular trash/dumpster, and correctly destroying equipment like computers, copiers, servers, and thumb drives that contain PHI before disposing of them or returning them, if leased.
