HIPAA:
Q: HIPAA covers 3 types of security controls. Two of them are administrative (processes and policies), and technical (firewalls, anti-virus, etc.). What is the 3rd?
A: Physical controls. These include things like protecting mobile devices that contain PHI, shredding paper with PHI on it instead of throwing it in the regular trash/dumpster, and correctly destroying equipment like computers, copiers, servers, and thumb drives that contain PHI before disposing of them or returning them, if leased.
